My buddy Doug (Fug) let's me ride at his house, and he's a
great friend in every way. He helps out a lot on this site by keeping me focused
and active, and lends a hand with testing and riding impressions. I made this
page up to show what he has going on and where he's at. It's fun reading.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I haven't written in awhile. I have been on an
Arenacross up and down ride lately. It started last season when I
qualified for the Arenacross World Finals at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas
the same weekend as the US OPEN. My family and some friend flew out there
for the race and we had a blast.
Chad Reed of course put the hammer down on the field
with Ricky running good on Saturday night until his Suzuki let go. The
amateur day was on Sunday on the same track just tamed down. The day ended
pretty well with a 2nd in +30 and 4th in +25 mains.
The only reason I tell you this is, anyone who has raced
knows that it is all about winning. After going and taking second, I vowed
to return and win it all next year. So after we got home I rode my fiddie
and TTR90 until my 450 made it home. I was starting my assault on the 2005
season which started in Des Moine IA. at the end of October. The whole
month of October I rode and trained like never before. The riding was
great especially on the fiddie. Weather is Wisconsin for October makes it
my favorite time of the year to ride.
Well, I got to Des Moine and was feeling great. I had
the technical track down in practice and felt really good. In my first
heat race, I had to start in the back row ( the joys of arenacross) and
was making my way through the pack. On the third lap I was up to third and
gaining fast and then it happened. The thing you think will never happen
to you. I lapper fell in front of me on a double and I was already
committed to the jump. The only thing I could do was throw it away to not
land on him. Mission accomplished, except for me! I landed feet first in
the landing and completely shattered both my ankles and also broke my
right arm.
God has a plan for all of us and as I sit here two
months later in my wheelchair, it has dawned on me to solely dedicate
myself to the mini world. I'm done racing big bikes for good, and all my
attention will be focused on the fiddie world. I still have a long way to
go before I can try to walk but I know it will happen. My motivation and
drive to walk again is to be able to get out there on my fiddie and tear
it up.
As a test rider for
www.50ccracing.com I owe it to you all to get back out there and test
and ride and demo for all of you. Its a fun and dirty job but someone has
to do it, even if it does not pay the doctor bills.

Well, we finally made it out again, the rains appear to
have ended. Fug's place is real sandy so the rain doesn't hurt it at all. When
everywhere else is muck, that's the place to go. Here's a bunch of shots of us
bombing around. I know, I know, Fug doesn't have a helmet on, but neither does
his kid and I don't condone that, but its cute as heck.

Fug has been generous enough to allow
myself and other fiddie riders the opportunity to ride at his personal
playground. The soil is sandy, with some loamy dirt mixed in sometimes depending
on where you are. Makes for a great ride when its wet out, and its been wet
lately. Today we did the Stavron fork review, and just had a good time. Hard not
to on these, isn't it.

A nice little lip.... |

There's, like, no run at this. I failed miserably. Thank
gawd no pics of me. |

that begs for attention. |

There's women out there that don't get this much attention. |
 |
This is Jerrods ride. It's a hunk of crap and he still has a
blast. |

11/3/03's update
Yeah, we all remember Fug. Well what else are a couple of
cheesheads going to do on a misty 45 degree Sunday. Can't think of anything
better that busting out the fiddies and blowing up some laps. That was all well
and good, but Jerrod couldn't keep his eyes off the big plateau on the big bike
track. This guy has an 88cc rocket with zero suspension. It used to have good
legs, but that was long ago and far away, and they are now completely wrecked.
Forks move about 2" and wobble like Fugs knees. This guy don't care, if you
downside the landing its all good, and his motor carries him.
Photos courtesy of Matt Bronk, and Vet A fast guy that
wishes he had one of these. Riders make the best photographers, they get right
in your face. I was seeing flash bulbs after some of these. I'm the guy with the
full faced helmet, Fug has a stocking cap, and Jerrod has the BMX helmet.

Whew, that's enough for one day. Hey, what's Jerrods doing
on the plateau? |

Yes, my knees are in perfect shape. I don't know why |
